OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM

Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful career, while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school. But do you think the actual education system, which is the basis of our children future is the good one? Or do you think there’re many things we should discuss and change?

In my opinion, I think the education system currently implanted has really good points such as a really ambitious schedule, well distributed free time and with many renowned teachers. Although, there are some drawbacks such as bad academic results in international surveys, poorly trained professionals which have led us to crisis and school failure that implies people leaving school without the minimum studies.

On balance, I would say that as nowadays academic qualifications are required in many professions, I think the government would have to think about solving those little problems in order to form better the students. In my view, I think that it should be reforms in the type of knowledge taught to the students, and in the way to teach them; probably using new technologies would be a good way to attract student’s interest in the subject.

The torturing of bulls in Catalan bullrings is over.

¿Do you think it’s fear not prohibiting a practice that kill animals just because a group of people like it or just because it has more than 600 years of history? A crowd of 20,000 people watched, two Sundays ago, the last bullfight in Barcelona, before a ban comes into place across Catalonia.
In my opinion, it’s an advance for Catalonia to be the first region in mainland Spain to ban bullfighting, but while some people celebrated the ban as a victory for animal rights, many dismissed it as a purely political move. As Marín told to El Mundo newspaper, “The parliament banned bullfighting because it is a Spanish tradition, not to protect animals,". Furthermore, Bullfighting supporters accused deputies in the local parliament to have voted it through purely because bullfighting was emblematic of Spain and they wanted to differentiate Catalonia from the rest of the country. From my view, this people can understand that Catalan people just only want to protect these animals, and it’s pathetic, they involucres other political affairs to this matter because bullfighting has been on the decline in Catalonia for decades.

Finally, on the one hand, I have to say I am glad that the torturing of bulls in Catalan bullrings is over, but in the other hand, I am sad that although this war has been won, still die six animals two Sundays ago in La Monumental.

MY HOLIDAYS

My last holidays were amazing as I enjoyed a lot with my friends and my family, and I met new people too, which I like.

Just starting the summer, I went to Santoña, a little town near Santander, in Cantabria, where there are perfect waves to surf. As every summer, I went there with a friend of mine, Carlota, who I can’t see during the year. There, we had a lot of fun. We just were all the mornings and afternoons in the sea trying to catch the best waves and enjoying our time with some new people we met or people we knew from some years ago.

Next, I went to Castellón, in Valencia, with my family, and as my parents looked for a really relaxing time, we were on the beach for some days, just doing nothing. After that, we went together to la Cerdanya, a beautiful place in the mountains where we know a lot of people, and we do thousands of activities. For example, we did a paintball, we went carting and we did some picnics in the river. On the other hand, most of the mornings, we just lied in the swimming pool, taking enough energy for the rest of the day and for the night! There, I also met some classmates like Marc Valencia or Eva Bosch, that also have a house in there.

After those days, we came back to Vic, and, unfortunately, we had to start our routines again.
