London trip is quite an unusual experience which you can share different moments from with your friends to Londoners or unknown people with whom you have to live to. The first day, probably you'd be very nervous when they start calling out names and you finally have to leave with your host family. My recommendation is not being worried or slightly afraid, and especially not believing in the first impression.
Fortunately, our host family took care of us extremely well, as if they were our real family. Our breakfast was like a buffet, sometime they took us and some of our friends to the shopping centre or the bowling alley, and we had been able to share a lot of moments with the daughters of the family, who have mostly our age and with who we still keep in contact.
Concerning to the different daily activities I found them very funny and interesting, but as a girl I am, although a boy probably would say the best visit of the trip was the one in the Wembley stadium, my favourite times were those ones we had time to go shopping. If I could repeat the experience, I wouldn't spend too much money in souvenirs or food, and I would take the advantage of buying in shops you cannot find in Catalonia, like for example Jack Wills or Abercrombie. As I see it, you should spend the whole free morning you are going to pass in London in those types of shops.
On balance I would say you should try to make the best of it because every little thing is such a new experience and also would be quite a happy memory. To finish with I'll just leave my last recommendation: Buy, and buy as much as you can, but keep on eye the weight of your case, just in case you had to leave your purchases in London!
